Sooooooooo cute

My first official 40th. The 30's are starting to end for some of my friends. Oh my.
Andrew my darling was able to celebrate with his friends and family (his family flew in all the way from NZ - SO lovely) - great people, great food, lots of wine (from the Malborough region no less). I may have enjoyed several bottles myself
The love was infectious - which just made for a great evening overall.

It's been ages but I've finally uploaded some new pictures! The majority of them are from my most recent trip home to Halifax for Greek Fest 07.

So I clearly haven't blogged in a while.. I suppose I didn't feel it necessary or had nothing to say. Until my 32nd birthday. First off, my adorable niece Ariana was celebrating her 2nd birthday. Second, I walked into work to find my desk area streamed in Harry Potter fun.. It was almost ridiculous - but I LOVED it. AND my awesome boss got me a Harry Potter themed cake:

Last weekend Virg & I had our penthouse cooling party. It was one of many parties we had together. The constants were great food, endless flow of red wine & beer and the odd mojito, me, Virg & phenomenal friends who always made our parties fun & something to talk about for days. Endless stories. Pictures to keep you reminiscing for hours.
It's been fun

I can't believe it took me so long to tell the world, but I'm officially an aunt again.
Baby Yianna was born Jan 15th in the morning.. I believe something like 8 pounds? But that doesn't really matter. She's adorable and healthy and that's all that matters.
Thanks to my cousin Georgina - who is just as psycho with pics as I am... otherwise I would never have seen what Yianna Nikolaou looked like at 12 hours old.


I've uploaded a bunch of pics.. and be sure there will be more to come.
Mom & Dad & Ariana are all fantastic.

I am clearly somewhat biased - but this is probably one of the funniest and cutest videos of my niece. So maybe because I was there it was funnier.. but whatever.

How the internet has changed my life.
Well - my first significant job was working for an Internet company - Tucows.com
It was there that I discovered the wonder of the web. I had just moved to Toronto from Halifax... was still missing my family and friends. ICQ it was.
Then we moved on to MSN. Now I can communicate with my friends and family all over the world via the internet - messanger, SKYPE, email etc.
LOVE IT
I found the best recipe for banana bread. Online.
I found out all I needed to know about the Stump Jump. Online.
I book ALL my travel. Online.
I research cities I'm travelling to - in seconds - online.
Sudoku. I'm addicted. Online.
And the list goes on.

Update:
Ok so I met Linda Evans and Joan Collins last night after Legends.

Laura, Lino and I waited outside of the stage door.
Linda was LOVELY. She came out first in a pink sweater from Tabi, jeans and a white baseball (i think) hat.
She gave us all her autograph (the 9 of us fans that were there) and even graciously allowed us to pose in a
picture with her (this guy form NYC had a camera and is going to send us the pic).... Then she was whisked away
in a cream limo... Then out comes the BEOTCH. Joan Collins. That woman is TINY except for her big head.
Didn't even want to stop to sign autographs.. her husband basically urged her to sign a few autographs and she
only allowed one pic.Whatev. Like as if there were hundreds of people screaming and wailing. TOTAL diva. There were NINE of us..
She kept insisting she was "coooold" and had to get into her limo.
Anyway. Joan definitely lived up to her reputation. I LOVED her.
The funniest part of the play? Laura, Lino and I were basically the only ones in the theatre under the age of 55 NO JOKE. And we
were the only ones to give a standing ovation (we were in the 7th row - they looked right at us!). Maybe liverspot lane didn't like
the play.. could it have been the buffed black stripper? the magic brownies? the sexual inuendos? the hash trips? probably...

Anyway, just thought I would share my funny night with y'all.

The Armview Restaurant & Lounge on Chebucto Rd in Halifax re-opened recently under new management and a contemporary face lift.  The interior is gorgeous, the food is an eclectic mix of old school diner meets yummy Mediterranean with a splash of Asia. Super-yummy food. Warm and friendly staff made my visit(s) there incredibly enjoyable.  Fantastic job guys

I figured this was worth blogging. Today was my last day at tucows.
6.5 years.
So crazy!
So many great memories.
So many great people I've met along the way.
I guess now I'm part of the ex-tucowsers group.
It feels great. Strange I'm sure on May 1st when I start my new job.
But great.
